“Love is the dancing cry of the soul, calling the body to worship…only dance, and your illusions will blow in the wind. Dance, and make joyus the love around you. Dance, and your veils which hide the Light shall swirl in a heap at your feet.”Rumi

Choreographer and dancer for over 15 years, Kalidasi’s dance is motivated by the individual soul that seeks to reach a bliss-permeated state. Through honoring the teachings of the Vedas and the spiritual philosophy behind the physical movements of dance, Kali moves in a style she calls “Anandamayi Bellydance” or “Bliss-Permeated” belly dance. Kali draws deep from the long, expressive postures of Modern dance, the earthy, serpentine energy of tribal bellydance, and the devotional aspect of classical Indian dance to create her own unique style. She currently studies Bharatanatayam under Deepa Srinath in Boston, MA and Odissi under herĀ gurus Colleena Shakti and Sudhansu Puhan in Pushkar, Rajasthan. In 2012 she had the honor of performing Odissi at the Pushkar Temple Dance Festival, produced annually by the Shakti School of Dance. Kalidasi is a principal member of Vadalna Tribal Dance Company from Boston, MA. She teaches a weekly class on American Tribal Style, Tribal Fusion, and Anandamayi Belly Dance. Kali offers her dance at the Lotus Feet of her Sat Guru, Amma. Jai Ma!
